How to Delete an Asset
Overview
This guide explains how to delete assets from the Library. Deleting an asset removes it from the platform and any folders it belongs to. Deleted assets are subject to data retention policies and can be recovered within a limited time period.
Before You Start
- You must have permission to delete assets.
- Deleted assets are not permanently removed immediately — they are recoverable during the data retention period (90 days by default).
- Deleting an asset removes it from all folders where it has been added.
Ways to Delete an Asset
- From Asset Actions (⋯): In folder views, metadata views, dwellings, or search results, click the three-dot menu next to the asset and select Delete.
- From Asset Details: Open the asset and use the Delete option available in the detail view actions.
- Bulk Delete: Select multiple assets using checkboxes. A bulk action banner will appear at the bottom where you can choose Delete.
Steps to Delete an Asset
- Locate the asset you want to delete.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the asset or go to the asset detail view.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog prompt.
Tips
- Bulk delete actions are useful when cleaning up large sets of assets.
- If you’ve deleted an asset by mistake, contact your administrator to request recovery — this is possible within the data retention period.
- Deleted assets are not visible to users, even if they had access prior to deletion.
