How to Move an Asset
Overview
This guide explains how to move one or more assets between folders within the platform. Moving an asset changes its location and can affect its visibility based on folder permissions.
Before You Start
- You must have permission to move assets and access to both the current and target folders.
- Assets can only belong to one folder at a time. Moving an asset will remove it from its current folder and place it in a new one.
Ways to Move an Asset
- From Asset Actions (⋯): In folders, metadata views, dwellings, or search results, click the three-dot menu and select Move.
- From Asset Details: Open the asset and select the Move option.
- Bulk Move: Use the checkboxes to select multiple assets. A bulk action banner appears at the bottom — choose Move.
Steps to Move an Asset
- Locate the asset(s) you want to move.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯), open the asset details, or use the checkboxes to select multiple items.
- Select Move.
- Choose the destination folder from the folder selector.
- Confirm the move to complete the process.
Tips
- Moving assets affects who can see or interact with them, depending on the access settings of the destination folder.
- Use bulk move for organizing multiple assets efficiently.
- If you're unsure about destination folder access, verify permissions before moving.
