Delete a Folder
Overview
This guide explains how to delete a folder from the Library. Deleting folders helps keep your structure clean and relevant by removing folders that are no longer needed.
Before You Start
- You must have permission to delete folders in the current location.
- Folders can be deleted even if they contain assets or subfolders.
- Important: Deleting a folder that contains content will delete all included assets and subfolders.
Where to Find the Delete Option
- In the Library root (first node), click the three-dot menu (⋯) to access Delete Folder.
- When inside a folder, click the Folder Actions button in the top right and select Delete Folder.
Steps to Delete a Folder
- Navigate to the folder you want to delete.
- Open the folder actions menu using either the three-dot menu or the folder actions button.
- Select Delete Folder.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted. If the folder contains content, you’ll be informed that all subfolders and assets will also be deleted.
Tips
- Deleted content can be recovered within 90 days due to platform data retention policies.
- Communicate with your team before deleting shared folders to avoid removing valuable content unintentionally.
