Dwelling Records

Overview

Dwelling Records represent curated collections of digital assets organized around a specific theme, use case, or objective—such as a project, campaign, product, or event. Dwellings act as flexible containers that allow users to bring together assets from across the platform into a single, centralized collection, regardless of original folder location.

This makes Dwellings a powerful tool for organizing content, simplifying collaboration, and streamlining sharing. Dwellings can be used for internal work or connected to external sharing tools such as Portals and Showcases. They also support access control and tracking to manage how content is used and by whom.

Dwellings can be created by any user and configured with visibility settings, making them suitable for private collaboration or open team access.

Display Options

Dwellings can be viewed in list or grid format:

• List View: Displays the Dwelling name and the total number of associated assets
• Grid View: Displays an image (if available) or initials, along with the name, subtitle, and owner

Key Fields

• Name: Title of the Dwelling
• Subtitle: A short supporting description
• Description: A longer explanation of the Dwelling’s purpose or contents
• Owner: User who created or manages the Dwelling
• Visibility: Can be set to Public (visible to all users) or Private (restricted to the creator and invited users)
• Audit Info: Created/modified timestamps and user tracking

Components

• Assets: Displays all assets grouped within the Dwelling
• Activity: Shows interactions and engagement with the Dwelling or its contents
• Portals: Lists any Portals linked to the Dwelling
• Dwelling Access: Lists users with access to a private Dwelling (only visible when applicable)
• History: Tracks changes to the Dwelling and its metadata
• Comments: Internal discussion and collaboration

Relationships

• Assets: Core relationship—Dwellings are defined by the assets they group
• Users: Linked through ownership and shared access rights
• Portals: Dwellings can be used as a source for one or more Portals
• Showcases: Selected Dwelling assets can be featured in one or more Showcase records
