How to Reprocess an Asset
Overview
Reprocessing an asset allows the platform to regenerate previews, thumbnails, or other automatically generated content. This is useful when previews fail to generate, after profile updates, or when applying new platform features to previously uploaded assets.
Before You Start
- You must have permission to reprocess assets.
- Reprocessing does not change the original file or metadata.
- Only assets with valid source files can be reprocessed.
Methods to Reprocess Assets
1. From Asset View
Reprocessing can be done directly from the Library, Metadata, Dwellings, or Search Results views.
- Locate the asset(s) in the view.
- Use either:
- Asset Actions menu (⋯) on a single asset
- Checkboxes to select multiple assets and trigger bulk actions
- Select Reprocess from the available action menu.
- Confirm the reprocess action when prompted.
2. From the Processing Report (Admin Settings)
The Processing Report provides a centralized view of asset processing status and supports bulk reprocessing.
- Navigate to Admin Settings > Processing Report.
- Use either the List View or Grid View to locate assets.
- Select one or more assets to reprocess using the checkboxes or item actions.
- Choose Reprocess from the bulk or single asset action menu.
Tips
- Use reprocessing when preview or thumbnail generation fails or is missing.
- Use the Processing Report to track the status of individual or bulk reprocessing operations.
- Reprocessing can also help if files were uploaded with incorrect color profiles or had other processing-related issues.
