Digital assets are files stored and managed in the Data Dwell platform. When you upload a file (image, video, document, or audio file), it becomes a digital asset with enhanced organization, searchability, and sharing capabilities.
Each asset is enriched with metadata, given a dedicated details page, and can be organized, versioned, shared, and tracked throughout its lifecycle.
The Library is the central repository where all digital assets are stored and accessed. It provides a structured environment for organizing, searching, and managing your files.
Assets in the Library are organized using folders and subfolders, creating a hierarchical structure that makes sense for your organization. Permissions can be set at the folder level to control who can view, upload, edit, or delete assets within specific areas.
When a file is uploaded, it becomes an asset with a dedicated details page. This page serves as the central hub for all information and actions related to that asset.
The Asset Details page includes:
Metadata is descriptive information attached to assets that makes them searchable and organized. This includes titles, tags, descriptions, copyright information, and custom fields defined by your organization. Metadata is controlled by Metadata Profiles, which determine what fields are available for each asset.
Assets support version management, allowing you to upload updated files while preserving the complete history of previous versions. This ensures you can track changes, revert to earlier versions if needed, and maintain a clear audit trail.
Subassets are secondary files linked to a primary asset, such as project files, source files, or alternate formats. They help keep related materials organized without cluttering the main Library.
Access to assets is controlled through folder-based permissions and user groups. Administrators can define who can view, download, edit, or delete specific assets based on their role and responsibilities.
