What is Data Dwell?

What types of records does the platform support?

How do I upload files?
You can upload files by dragging them into the drop zone in the left navigation, or by clicking the Upload Assets or Upload Folder buttons in the Library.Learn more about uploading assets.

Can I upload multiple assets at once?
Yes, bulk uploading is supported via the upload drop zone in the left navigation or the add assets button in the library. You can also enrich assets with metadata during the process. Learn more about uploading.
Why can't I see certain assets?
Your visibility depends on folder access and role permissions. Contact your administrator if you believe something is missing.

What is metadata in this platform?
Metadata includes all searchable and descriptive fields attached to an asset - such as title, tags, usage rights, and more. See metadata overview.
What are Metadata Profiles?
Metadata Profiles control which fields and components are visible and editable per asset. They are required for all assets unless none exist. Learn more about metadata profiles.
How can I tag assets?

How can I share an asset externally?
You can share assets via Portals, Showcases, or Public Links. Explore sharing options.
What is a Public Link?
A Public Link is a direct, open link to a specific asset - no login required. Learn how to use Public Links.
Can I track who views shared content?
Yes, tracking is available on the Portal record. If the portal is connected to accounts or contacts, tracking extends to those records.

What is a Portal?
A Portal is a secure space for sharing assets with external users. Access settings include password protection, download permission, and email/domain restrictions. More on Portals.
What is a Dwelling?
A Dwelling is an internal collection of assets. It can be public or private, and is often used as a staging area before external sharing. More on Dwellings.
What is a Showcase?
Showcases are curated galleries designed for presentation and visual storytelling. More on Showcases.

How do I delete a user?
Navigate to Admin Settings > User Settings > Users tab. Locate the user in the list, then either click the three-dot menu and select Delete, or open the user record, click the cogwheel icon, and select Delete. Learn more about managing users.
Why can't I perform certain actions?
Access to records, assets, and features is defined by your assigned Role and User Group. Understand permissions.
What controls who sees what?
Permissions are based on folder assignments and role configurations. If you need broader access, contact your admin.

How can I check my storage usage?
You can view your storage usage in Admin Settings > Dashboards. The dashboard opens by default when you access the admin area.
How do I cancel my account?

How do I get help when users can't log in?
Administrators can reset a user's password directly from the platform, providing a temporary password for immediate access. Users can also use the Forgot Password link on the login screen. If these options don't work, contact support@datadwell.com or create a support ticket via the virtual assistant within the platform.
I can't upload a file - what should I do?
Check your internet connection, file format, and permissions. If the issue persists, contact support. Learn more about how to upload.
Why can't I edit metadata?
This may be due to your role or the assigned metadata profile. Ensure you have the necessary edit rights. Learn more about how to edit and asset.
Why aren't the thumbnails appearing?
