Lifecycle Rule Conditions and Actions
This page lists what a lifecycle rule can check and what it can do. Use it when building or adjusting a rule. For the steps, see How to Create Lifecycle Rules.
Conditions
A rule checks one or more conditions, combined with ALL (AND) or ANY (OR).
- Lifecycle state, Days in current lifecycle state
- Has expiry date, Is expired, Days until expiry, Days since expiry
- Days since created
- Rights expired: the asset's copyright or usage rights have passed their end date.
- Visibility level, Metadata profile, Metadata value
- In folder, Uploaded by, Owner
Lifecycle States
Conditions and actions that use the lifecycle state work with these states: Processing, Creation, Review, Embargo, Active, Expiration and Archive. See About Lifecycle States.
Actions
- Move to Active, Move to Review, Move to Expiration, Move to Archive: change the asset's lifecycle state.
- Flag for review
- Lock asset, Unlock asset: block or allow downloading, sharing and use.
- Move to folder
- Assign metadata, Assign metadata profile, Set visibility level
- Stop processing further rules
Some actions need extra details under Action settings, for example the metafield for Assign metadata.
